Teachers

I was reading Swami Vivekananda’s Complete Works – Volume 2 and I felt the urge to read it aloud. As I read it aloud, the words became more meaningful and real to me. Therefore, I plan to read from the books and correspondence of many holy persons. Hope you would find it helpful in your spiritual journey.

I start with Swami Nisreyasananda with whom I had extensive meetings during early 1980s. My knowledge of Hinduism and Advaita comes from my interaction with him. Swami Brahmarupananda of Washington DC Vedanta Center gave me a package of letters written by the Swamiji to various disciples in the USA. I read each of the letters in this blog. They highlight his kindness, love, and affection for all living beings in the world intermixed with detailed knowledge of the Advaita philosophy. He was a great example on how to live according to the principles taught in the Advaita philosophy.
